Buyers Should Call A REALTOR First
Kathy Riggs February 28th, 2010
Finally, we are into the third month of 2010 and March is a spring month. REALTORS are ready for all of those homebuyers who have been searching the internet during this cold and rainy (or snowy) winter to actually start walking through houses.
Yes, there are many things you can do “online” from finding houses to checking demographics and school systems; but you will not get the feel of the house until you visit it in person. So, you’ve spent a few weeks looking online and driving by houses, it is time to make your next move.
Call a REALTOR; bettter still, call a REALTOR first.
The home buying process is a trip most people take only once or twice in their lives. REALTORS take that trip everyday and a REALTOR will make that journey as stress-free as possible. In your first meeting with a REALTOR, they can give you an overview of the home buying process and explain the importance of being pre-approved before you start house hunting. REALTORS network with other REALTORS and have often seen most of the houses you have selected. They can save a buyer time by helping them screen properties or gather additional information from other REALTORS. Think your lender is giving you a headache? Your REALTOR is familiar with what will be required and is there to tell you that much of what the lender requests is routine, so there is no reason to get alarmed.
REALTORS can recognize red flags and start working to resolve an issue before it becomes a problem.
In the home buying process, the REALTOR is your quarterback, helping you find a home, introducing you to the other professionals who play a role in the home buying process. So while it is great to start house hunting online, have a face-to-face meeting with a REALTOR. When you form a great partnership with the REALTOR of your choice, you are on the way to making your dream home become a reality.
