- Kathy is an eastern North Carolina native and it is still her favorite place. She grew up in Trenton NC and is a graduate of East Carolina University in Greenville. Go Pirates! She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority amd currently serves on the Chapter Advisory Board. Kathy has been a resident of Kinston for more than 30 years. She spent 10 years at the Kinston Free Press, ran a photography studio with husband Fred Riggs and has now entered the challenging world of real estate, which she loves. She is a member of Gordon Street Christian Church and has been active in the Kinston Junior Woman's Club and the Kinston Woman's Club.
