Kathy Riggs officially entered the real estate field five years ago. As a Realtor with Walter Poole Realty Inc. she enjoys helping people find the property that is just right for them. Kathy is an eastern North Carolina native, having grown up in Trenton. She is a graduate of East Carolina University where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She is currently a member of the Chapter Advisory Board and she still enjoys watching Pirate football. Kathy has lived in Kinston for more than 30 years. She spent 10 years as a reporter and news editor at the Kinston Free Press and later operated a photography studio with husband Fred Riggs.
Licensed since 1978, Kathy decided to become a fulltime player in the real estate world in 2004. Even with its ups and down, it is a career she loves. As with any of Kathy’s professions, she becomes a student of her craft and is always taking additional continuing education to better serve her clients. In 2007 she completed appraisal courses to enhance her understand of this aspect of the real estate business. Kathy has always been civic-minded and service oriented. She was active in the Kinston Junior Woman’s Club and the Kinston Woman’s Club. She served on the original Street-A-Fair committee in the early 1980’s, has participated in Relay for Life, received her Red Cross blood donor gallon pin and looks forward to ringing the bells for the Salvation Army kettles each Christmas. She is a member of Gordon Street Christian Church where she is a deacon and has served as chairman of the Fellowship and Aesthetics committees. | |
